About Podgora

Cosy, family-friendly coastal resort with 2,880 inhabitants, in the south-eastern part of the region, situated at the foot of the Mt. Biokovo, 9 km south-east of Makarska, 70 km south-east of Split, 150 km north of Dubrovnik. With a high mountain in the bacakground and islands in front, Podgora offers stunnig views from its seaside promenade. It's typically Mediterranean flair is accentuated by a lovely fishermen's harbour full of quaint ancient boats and bustling with typical activities. Some of those boats offer day-trips to nearby islands for siteseeing and/or bathing.

Services and facilities: supermarkets, shops, bakers, MD, pharmacy, post office, bank, several cash points, restaurants, cafés, night clubs, internet point. There is a rich offer of various water sports, such as paragliding, surfing, diving/snorkling, water skiing, etc. as well as mini-golf, tennis and basketball. It is possible to rent bicycles, water scooters, pedaloes, canoes, ... There is a possibility of fishing, but a permit will be required.

Access: motorway A1 Zagreb - Split, exit „Šestanovac“. Then follow the road E65 direction Makarska - Podgora. Neares train station is in Split, from where there are busses once an hour. Nearest international passenger port is also in Split, located oposite the bus station. For arrivals by plane: airport Split (SPU) 90 km, Dubrovnik (DBV) 170 km.
